I am a 20 year old boy from Shandong, China. I live in a remote rural area, yet I enjoy the happy life there very much. There I can feel the love of my family. There I can enjoy the harmony of human and nature. But now I leave my hometown and my motherland. Although I miss my home from time to time, I enjoy my life in Singapore. I feel very happy and lucky to be a PRC scholar to have the chance to study in NTU (Nanyang Technological University). I find it very interesting to study here: the class is much more informal than that in China, and we can talk with tutors just like friends. I was deeply impressed by the hospitality of Singaporean when I first came to Singapore.

Looking back to my learning experience, I find it very interesting and impressive. Before my primary school, I received very good education from my mother. I am very proud of that I have a good mother who gave me so excellent education.
I spent my primary school in Wangmiao Primary School in my village. I find that is the happiest time in my learning experience: the course is so easy, and no worry about future. At that time, I can very easily get the first place in almost all the examinations. What impressed most is not the knowledge I learned in the primary school, but the quality of being a man--honesty. At that time, cheating in examinations is very common, because teachers wanted their students performing well in order to prove they were good teacher. But my science teacher who is also school master is an exception. He taught me the quality of honesty by his deeds rather than words.

After my primary school, I went to NO. 31 middle school Zaozhuang, in my town. From that time on, I have met some rivals in study. In my junior middle school, I also met two very kind teachers, one is my mathematics teacher and the other one is physics teacher. They not only had a excellent teaching methods, but also treated me very well. It is them who made me interest in science--mathamatics and physics, which have an important influence till now. Since I had great interests in mathematic and physics, I performed very well in my junior middle school, and finally I entered the best senior middle school in my city--NO. 1 Middle School Tengzhou Shandong Province at a high grade.

When I came to senior middle school, I began to find out that my classmates were so excellent in a great surprise. At first I performed very bad and was frustrated. I almost gave up competing with my classmates before becoming confident again. Finally I succeeded and became one of the best students in my class. It is during those three years, I made a good friend who is also my biggest rival in studies.

After I graduated from senior middle school, I entered Central South University, from which I got the chance to go abroad and study in NTU.

When I was young, I was very curious about the world. I was very eager to know the myths of everything. I still remember the scene when my Grade One primary teacher asked all the students what they want to be in future. I remember one student said he want to be a landowner, very interesting. At that time, I said I want to be a scientist. Then, I only knew scientist had an intimate knowledge and was respected by people. I only knew that when I watched the scene of satellite launching, I would envy the scientists who researched it. I hoped one day I can take part in the research of satellite and spacecraft to exploring outer space just as they do. But now maybe I can not do that, because I did not choose aerospace and astronautics as my major. However, I want to be a scientist or engineer in my field.
