Project Synopsis
My survey is titled "people's view of the education of Singapore". With the development of the modern world,
science and technology is becoming more and more important. With the coming of the 21st century, the knowledge-based economy
appears. How can we get more knowledge? How can we develop our science and technology? The answer is through education. In
China, most people have realized the importance of science and technology as well as knowledge, so they try their best to
get the best education. However, we are not familiar with the situation in Singapore. Therefore my partner and I conducted
this survey in order to get a general idea of the education here.
It was really a challenge for us. We found that
people from different countries speak different kinds of English. Sometimes we had difficulties to understand them. However,
it was worth that effort, after all we learned a lot.
Project Findings
All the people pay great attention to education. Most of them are satisfied with the current education system here. In order
to get a good education they will spend a lot of money.
Chart 1
Besides, people's concepts are up-to-date here. They don't think the purpose of education is just to get
a degree, but to increase one's ability. So most of them think a graduate degree is enough.

The ability of communicating and cooperating as well as that of solving practical problems are highly valued. Ability is thought
highly rather than marks in the examinations
Chart 3
Singapore is Capitalism country. So a lot of people may think most people of Singapore are materialism. They only look for
money and show no care of their country and society. But that is untrue. Here are the results we find through survey.

We can learn from the chart that although a lot of people want to find a good job and earn more money by
getting a high degree, there are also a lot of people who want to do a lot of contributions to their country.
